Praise to God for a Living Hope

Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, and into an inheritance that can never perish, spoil or fade. This inheritance is kept in heaven for you, who through faith are shielded by God’s power until the coming of the salvation that is ready to be revealed in the last time. In all this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while you may have had to suffer grief in all kinds of trials. These have come so that the proven genuineness of your faith—of greater worth than gold, which perishes even though refined by fire—may result in praise, glory and honor when Jesus Christ is revealed. Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.

“Bring the crazy stuff. Bring the unexplainable. Bring the story only God would write.” – Jennie Allen in Anything: The Prayer That Unlocked My God and My Soul

JPEG image-104D986FEAD3-1My final take away, God is merciful and wants me (and you) to be in His family. He wants us to allow Him to be our guardian and wants us to genuinely be filled with joy. To get to that joy, at least right now in this short lifetime, we often “suffer grief in all kinds of trials.” Earth isn’t heaven, it’s not perfect, and we are not called to be comfortable here. That’s to come…

Dear God, How do I live from here? What are you calling me toward? I am ready for my Anything. in Jesus’s name. Amen.

  1. How indescribably beautiful your son is. That video brought tears to my eyes. God bless you for taking in a child as your own. I can’t wait to read more from you. I am a new blogger as well and I found you via Unveiled Wife comments. Thank you for your post.

    1. That is Jennie Allen and her son. You should check her out at JennieAllen.com She’s very inspiring and motivational in building a relationship with God, finding your purpose and surrounding to His plan.

I read her book Anything and did the Anything Project. It’s an 8 week study and I blogged my way through it.
