I’m excited you found yourself on this page! You can read more about me and my testimony on my blog. Check out the links on the About page. In summary, I am a happily (re)married woman. The difference this time, is a Christ-centered marriage. My husband and I prioritize our walk and being obedient to God first, then to each other. I love sitting beside him in church, digging into the Bible in our small group, and doing daily devotions together. We challenge each other, ask questions, make mistakes, and pray together.
He also travels for work for significant chunks of time. Our first year of marriage we used Deuteronomy 24:5 as a guide to not be apart during that year. So I joined him and we celebrated our 1 year anniversary on a Greek island where he was working for 6 weeks. Talk about a blessing! Now he’s off again for another 6 weeks but this time I haven’t joined him.
It’s not uncommon for spouses to be separated during business trips for a few weeks here and there. There are also those who experience much longer separations due to military deployments. Then there are those spouses who experience painful separations out of their control due to incarcerations, martial discord, or illness. There seems to be an abundance of devotional resources for marriages: The Love Languages, The Love Dare, The Sacred Marriage, for example. I couldn’t find one specific for partners who are together but separate.
I hope you join me on this journey of reading scripture and praying over our marriages. If you have a particular experience you’d like to share, I’d love to hear it!
